Jane Yates has an impressive writing portfolio. Prior to writing 'Garden', Jane penned a series of young adult novels called the Paradox Child Series. 'Garden' has since been published by Autumn Orchard and is going from strength to strength.
Despite being in separate cities, Jane and I quickly developed a good working relationship. On an almost daily basis, she sent me a chapter or two to edit and nine times out of ten, I would send them back the same day. 'Garden' developed very quickly and we soon had a completed novel.
The main challenge I had with 'Garden' was the attention to detail. I was constantly reading and re-reading my edits, double and triple-checking that they worked and made sense. Not only that, but as Jane was the very first author to use my copy editing service, I had to find a method that worked well for both of us. By utilizing the 'Track Changes' feature in Microsoft Word, I was able to clearly show my edits and make constructive comments at the same time, as well as sending Jane back her original copy. I believe that this contributed to the strong working relationship we had.
Since 'Garden' was published in February 2015, it has sold incredibly well on Amazon, both in printed and ebook form. Even now, the ebook version is still hovering around the top 30 Steampunk novels and is now being made into an audiobook. Seeing a book that I have worked on doing so well has has given me a great sense of pride and I am very grateful to Jane for giving me this great opportunity.
Jane now runs her own blog site and you can find 'Garden' here.
